We don't just submit to urban culture.....we create it!

After viewing works of Pollution, Urban Culture and The Urban Animal, its clear to see that every form of the urban is created and shaped by us, the people. The Urban Appearance is determined by each and everyone of us. Who pollutes? We do. Who's culture is it? Our culture. Who's behaviours are displayed? Ours. We are the urban! The urban is a reflection of us! We are the only ones who can make changes. Life is a blank page at first.....its up to us to write the script.

Truly Unique

This building is clearly an example of expression. There is probably nothing quite like it, and that's the point.

Architecture is clearly a form of expressing one's self and one's individuality. There are many forms of expression and this is one of them. There is a clear display of change in urban architecture. Weird seems to be the new fashionable. Steps like this are taken everyday as we move into more modern times and deviate from the typical physical and metaphorical structures of our lives.

Make A Change

Individually we may seem incapable of making an impact but together we can change the world. 

Of all my photos, this one holds the most meaning for me. On April 9th 2013, I wore a red X on my hand to so my support to The End It Movement. Most of you probably don't know that there are 27 million people still enslaved on this planet. That is highly ridiculous! The End It Movement shines a light on this phenomenon and aids to raise people's awareness of what it going on. We as urban society have to power to make a difference. But we must do it together. In urban society we can come together and really make a difference in the world. I hope we can help fix this problem sometime in the near future.

We must come together as one to help one another on our planet.

Who are you?

Who are we really? What is our true identity? 

Trying to blend in with urban society is a job by itself. But standing out an making yourself known is also part of the urban. How we 'decorate' ourselves, expresses who we are, what we think and the causes we believe in. Be yourself and express the true you in anyway you choose, whether it be stickers, tattoos, piercings or the clothes you wear. It's all urban, just different forms. You choose your own words and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

You Are A Cinema....I Can Watch You Forever.

Practically all of us love the movies. But why Movie Towne or Cinemas 8, and not Globe or Palladium?

Do we go to Movie Towne because it's better or because it's 'Movie Towne'? Why multiplexes and not ordinary cinemas? Is this really completely our choice or partly the choice of urban society? Yea, they are located in urban centres, but so are other cinemas? Times are changing. So I guess we gotta keep up with the times.

Multiplexes are a remix on traditional cinemas. New trends are just remixes on old ones. Which do you prefer?

What do you eat? And why?

Yea. I'm guilty of this one. Gimme Mickey D's any day! Do you realize that KFC is like 1st nature? Some people don't even realize that it's a foreign brand anymore. Mc Donald's, KFC, Wendy's.....1st nature. Nobody even thinks about Royal Castle anymore. Doesn't anyone cook anymore? To live urban, you gotta eat urban. Bring on the multi-national companies. I'm in! If Cinnabon is the new urban, I'm totally street!

Actual or Virtual Prison

Don't you feel trapped sometimes? Like you have to follow some type of unwritten code to be accepted?

Indeed, I must look or act a particular way to blend in and be a part of urban society. I must wear certain types of clothes. Hang out at certain places. Behave in a certain manner. Hmmm... Why? Why do we do this? Why can't we just be ourselves without the influence of others? Is this ever going to change? Are we ever going to be comfortable being our true selves? Or does urban society tell us who we are or ought to be? Are we going to be trapped in the urban prison or experience anti-urban freedom?

Vintage vs The Next Best Thing

Ever noticed now that every other vehicle you see on the highway is an S.U.V.?

Seriously, what's up with that? Why does everyone suddenly feel the need to drive a big van and tower over the road? To think about it, I went to a drive-thru the other day and realized that the window it at the perfect height for an S.U.V. Hmmm.....So went I saw this van, mind you, this is 2nd time I saw it, I was like wow, 'Where are the Beetles? Is John Lennon back from the grave?' All jokes aside, it was really cool seeing it, and run in good condition. So let's do urban vintage, cause the next best thing is highly over-rated.
